Happy Holidays! Handmade Market Chicago at Empty Bottle and Midwest Fiber-Frolic

It's Christmas Eve and with end of the year holidays, it's been a bit harder to do regular blog posts! First, I want to thank all the people who have bought my book this year and have taken my class! Your interest in this beautiful art of lace-making helped fueled the creation of the first book.

When I first started learning needle lace, I had a difficult time grasping the concepts with the illustrations available in the two published books in English. My lifetime hobby of drawing came in handy when I decided to write instructions and design patterns for needle lace flowers.

In 2019, I am hoping to spread the word about this beautiful art by appearing at pop-up markets and maybe some shows. It isn't something that I have come across often in the US, even in lace and fiber guilds, but I am hopeful that needle artists, fiber artists, jewelry makers, and craft enthusiasts will feel a draw to this art as more information is available for learning.

My first handmade market I got accepted to is happening at the end of March on the 24th at the Empty Bottle from 11am-4pm! Address: 1035 N Western Ave, Chicago IL 60622

I will have a few copies of my book available and a display of some of the elaborate and intricate necklaces for show. Please drop by to say hello if you live in Chicago!

If you live in the Wisconsin area, I also signed up to teach needle lace with Midwest Fiber-Frolics. This event will take place from Saturday February 9th from 1-4pm! Address: Crowne Plaza Milwaukee Airport

6401 South 13th Street
Milwaukee, WI

Last, I have made the books available in my shop. I only have six copies available, so grab one here or at Tatting Corner. Happy Holidays, and to a wonderful 2019! Here is a preview of what you will see in my book!
